Although light, minimal and gradually unfolding, these tracks have an industrial element, not in the harsh sense, but think more along the
lines of a large, modern four floor hospital building in the dead of night!

When my kidneys failed I was reminded that my body, the human body
is a machine and the dialysis machines are a part of larger network, the hospitals water works/filtration system which is connected to the local water mains. All these machines and systems need care and maintenance to function optimally.
An image came to mind, that of the renal clinic at night after all the staff have left, the dialysis machines power up and begin 'singing'!
The buildings air vents and pipes and other systems join in, all making their own 'music' which forms a symphony!
This idea of interconnectivity formed the basis of what was to become Nocturne. I had originally given it the title '7', as it was the seventh project idea I scribbled down in my sound journal!
Nocturne took on a life of it’s own, I have included three bonus tracks which were remastered especially for this release. Also included is an alternative cover image.

definition: noun: French, ‘nocturnal’ (occurring or active at night)

To be completely honest, the owl is making some of the best experimental music out there. Morbid Beauty is awe inspiring, the sloth hammer, some of the owl ripper compilations I can jam to in the car, but then there is always this. His solo contemplative works. Whenever I need to think or just let my mind take a break from reality I will pop one of these on, put my headphones on, and drift away. (In other words, buy this album). bob-smiley
