I started on these tracks in the Winter of 2020, initially as an exercise in sound editing as I was pretty new to it all. I can't recall what the original sound clips were or where they came from expect that I put them through Paulstretch on Audacity.
I wanted to use the same sound samples throughout each piece, only adding the odd, extra sound here and there.
Like so many other creations, the pieces took on lives of their own,
I went to back to them again and again - working on them in-between
my other sound releases and as so often happens, a lot of 'me' and my personal material went into them.
Right up bandcamp Friday (April 7th) I didn't know how I felt about this release, if I even liked the tracks or were they even good enough to release at all. Maybe it was the fact that the tracks came from an self-educational/sound editing context and not from a personal one!
I had (still have twice the number of tracks at my disposal) so I was able to select the ones I thought worked and went well together.
I might do something more experimental with the unreleased tracks
(I recently upgraded my DAW) or add them to a special edition in the near future.

The cover image is a combination or a SSD drive and an illustration of a implantable bionic kidney which is currently being designed and tested out of San Francisco. This will literally change the lives of millions of people across the world over the next decade and beyond!
